Caleb gets bored very fast and very grumpy if he isn't entertained enough! I was just wondering what's the best kind of toys to get for his age? I already have a play mat and some lamaze toys but not sure what else I should try? any ideas would be most welcome.

Thanks xx

With my eldest he loved his musical bouncer and would happily sit in it for ages at that age. He always loved his Sophie Giraffe too. We were given a pack of lots of different baby toys as a present for him when he was born. I think the mil got it from argos. I liked it cos it had lost of different rattles, squeaky toys and balls in it.

I found with my eldest he got bored being in the same place, so when we were home I made sure we moved from room to room in the house. I'd have different activities and toys for him in each room.

Have a look on Amazon. They have quite a few reasonably priced and inexpensive things to entertain. Bright starts are good (I got a set of 6 balls with different things inside) for example, also one of those foil blankets for lying on (the noise entertains them!). My boy also likes his little tikes piano. He's also loving books at the mo with the buttons you can press (lots cheap on the works website) and the little fabric books with crunchy material inside. Same as littlemonkey he gets bored in one place for too long so gets moved around a lot!

Have you tried the sure start play groups? Mine loves seeing other babies and children, we go to baby massage and yoga and rhythm and rhyme time at the library.

He has a jumperoo which he loves and a play mat/gym. He loves books. And he loves sitting on my lap watching me play with the dogs lol.

We sing nursery rhymes in front of a mirror too and he likes to go a walk.

I'm thinking about a group, I've been b4 with my last LO but it wasn't a very nice place, they all had their groups and no one would talk to me so I felt stupid being there even though I tried to talk to them. Might pluck up the courage to try another. thanks ladies xxx

Both mine have loved lamaze Freddie Firefly :-)

It sounds really boring but Oscar loves a comforter, he will sit in his chair and rub it against his face/chew it/scrunch it up for absolutely ages. He always has to have something in his hands. He also has a lion with lots of taggy bits on that is nice for him to feel/look at and he has a train that's colourful wooden blocks that he will look at and loves me to bang the blocks together. And the last few things that might be good is a bubble machine and those little pinwheels that spin :) hope this helps a bit Chrissie! Xxx

Thanks so much, he has a Freddy. Will look into some bubbles for him, thanks Cakey xxx

I second bubbles, we use them at our sensory class and Caleb loves them (good name!

Oh and also he has a couple of maracas and rattles that are huge hits too....and have a look at the v tech toys as there are some good things there to keep them entertained. X

I found the mama baby bliss groups more friendly than the sure start one :)
