does anyone else have cats? i have 5 so this is a concern although they dont go out so if they dont have it they wont catch it does anyone know if the immunity screening is available on the nhs? and if not how much do private bloodtests cost

I think that the chances of you having it already are pretty high if you have cats but pretty sure you will be immune because you've been exposed, Im sure I read that somewhere. I had a cat up until I was 6 months pregnant last time and I did worry about it. Not sure about testing; it might be worth asking your GP though xx

iv read this too if they have have it then im pretty sure iv already had it but would be nice to know will ask my dr i think i have glaves and a face mask for the litter tray but they walk all over house so i dont know if that foolproff if that makes sense trying to train them not to come in my room at moment which is fun!

I have an outdoor cat and am paranoid every time he comes to me for cuddles! Hopefully we'll be ok x

The biggest worry is their litter tray. I asked my mw and she said not to worry except about changing litter tray, which OH has done since we started trying. My cat is very affectionate but I'm not overly worried about cuddles with him, just avoiding his litter tray.

I have 4 that all stay indoors, my doctors said aslong as i don't do litter tray i should be fine she also said if i do HAVE to do it to make sure i wear gloves x

I have a cat. I did the test in GP when I started to plan to have a baby last Feb. You have to insist that you want to have the test. The first doctor who I met refused the test and said it is not neccessary. However, I asked for seeing another doc and I got one. I did not have it at that time. I am going to ask for another test since got my BFP last Sunday. BTW, it was free when I did it.
