Hello ladies! My pregnancy is 7 weeks and all has been fine so far. However, I am very worried today: I had an exessively active day with a lot of walking (Fit app is showing 12,000 steps), travelling by bus and train, going from a place to another with reasonable distance in between (plus being at work later on). By the end of the day I realised how tired I was and still needed to take a walk home which is 1 km. When I got home, I was exhausted. :( Now I am feeling awful and guilty. Could this have affected negatively my baby or pregnancy? What makes me feel even worse is my boobs are not hurting that much anymore. Could this mean something is wrong?? I am in panic, I should have been careful and not let this happen.
Please, if you have any opinions on the effect of excessive physical activity on pregnancy, let me know. Maybe you have been in a similar situation? Thank you!!

Walking is not a high intensity workout, as long as your heart rate wasn't in your peak area you should be fine. I used to do CrossFit during my first pregnancy up to 6 months, I had to watch my heart rate and adjust the exercises to avoid hitting or squashing my bump, and further on I had to avoid doing abs as you may develop diastasis recti.
Walking is good and you shouldn't feel bad about it at all. I would keep it up if I were you!x

Thank you so much Kitana! You put my mind at ease! Walking is probably the safest activity you can imagine, so I think I overreacted... :) X

I did 10,000 steps a day (or at least aimed for it) right up to the day before I gave birth. As kitana says it's low impact so its safe. If you're walking outside in the heat make sure you have some water with you. Just don't push yourself too hard especially if morning sickness hits.

While you are able to walk lots enjoy it. I couldn't during 1st trimester as weather was rubbish over the winter and I felt crappy and my back was hurting a lot. 2nd tri i had cold after cold and then third tri i have had piles galore! I'm due this month so I'm looking forward to spending the summer walking with baby in the pram and losing some of the pregnancy weight!

Don't exert yourself too much. Just take things easy. But also, if you feel ok for light exercise, it won't harm your baby or affect your pregnancy x

Thank you Jellybean! Wish you a wonderful summer walking with your little one! :)
