Hi there my lo has had a scarily high temp today took him to docs and diagnosed with a bad case of tonsilitus poor little guy :( he's 10mths old and just doesn't know what to do with himself he won't eat or drink and is just lying there whimpering. Tbh it's breaking my heart to see him like this, I'm alternating the calpol and baby ibuprofen so he's getting an overlap with them. Has anyone got any recommendations for things to give him that might ease his throat??? Or make him more comfortable??

My mum always gave us butter mixed with a little sugar for sore throats when we were kids but I think we were quite a bit older than 10 months. I think a nice warm bath and cuddles will be the best medicine tbh xx

He's had plenty of cuddles :) and a warm bath because he projectile vomited over himself when I was trying to give him his anti-biotics, Infact I called the out of hours gp as he threw up 4 times after we put him to bed and he developed a really weird rash round his eyes and down his back, but the gp who phoned us back said its normal for what he has and as long as he doesn't get any worse then not to worry. It's hard not to though, don't think I'll get much sleep tonight.

I am just getting over a really bad case of this so I know how awful your lo is feeling, I found yoghurts and ice lollies worked well for me, plenty of fluid, if lo is not drinking much try some dioralyte, I wouldnt worry too much about food, lo will soon get appetite back x

Jake had this last month, was very sick with it, he just had some jelly, cooled boiled water and milk when he could, hopefully antibiotics are starting to kick in for you now, it's awful :( xxx
