has anyone got a good cheap but tasty receipe idea for a tomato sauce to have with meatballs and pasta.

Thankooooo :D

For my pasta sauces I just chop some onions and fry lightly, add a tin (or two depending how much you are cooking for!) of chopped tomatoes, a good splash of balsamic vinegar, a sprinkle of sugar to sweeten it up a little and some chopped herbs. Just simmer it and it thickens itself.

You can also add some garlic to it if you like :)

I do simlar to above...

Fry onion and chopper garlic clove (lazy garlic or garlic puree is fine)
fry meat (if using)

1 tin chopped toms
1 red pepper chopped
1 tblespoon tom puree OR Ketchup is fine
few dash of worcester sauce
1/2 tspoon basil
1/2 tspoon oregano
1spoon sugar
dash of salt and pepper

For a difference add:
Some red wine

Thankyou ladies those sound good, i wont be adding any sugar though as my hubby is diabetic and we have changed our diets dramaticlay although for the better.

Oh No! what type is he hon? Has it been a lifelong thing or just recent.

Just wanted to add making your own sauces work out SOO much cheaper in the end
