Toddlers eat TOO MUCH fruit and veg, say experts

I find that the Daily Mail aren't always accurate with their health reports, so I won't trust their article.

theirs isnt the only one hun its all over it was just their link i put up

thats ridiculous. its very very difficult to eat TOO MUCH fruit and veg

I don't know where they got these facts from because I doubt Mums give there children TOO MUCH fruit and one min they're saying one thing and then thye go back and say another  It just goes in 1 ear and out the other lol

its easy to know what to give your kids to eat.
Natural wholesome low fat foods. simple.

i don't give a monkeys fat ass what anyone says. Im my own expert. :) I use my common sense. Everyone knows a carrot is more healthy than a bag of sweets. Kids can't get enough fruit and veg in their diets.

I do worry that Seren eats too much fruit and veg (I know I sound like a smug mum but I do worry about it). She is always eating fruit and loves tomatoes. She used to steal them off the tomato plants in the garden. Her poo is usually quite "soft" (no idea how to describe it) so I wonder if this is because she is getting too much fibre??

Thats fine for older children and teenagers, but babies and toddlers need high fat, high protein and high carbs. Thats why its always recommended you buy butter, full fat milk etc for babies.

They are growing up to 1mm a day and their little bodies need all the energy they can get.

My god imagine how exhausted you'd be if you copied your kids for a day, move for move!

The reason why they say too much fruit and veg is bad is because it bulks out their tummies and doesn't sustain them for long enough.

they don't need high fat stuff. Full fat milk is not necessary at all.
Semi skimmed is ok
kids are given too much fat these days.

What you mean is kids have too much processed food these days, same as adults.

Babies eat as much as they require, I've noticed that Maia eats larger quantities of jarred food than of home cooked food. I think thats because jar food has a lot of water added, so she has to eat more of it to get the same calories etc. Whereas home cooked food is more nutrient dense with less added water so she eats less of it.

They know what they need, its us that mess them up!

Personally I was brought up on good wholesome home cooked food, skimmed milk, low fat spread, fruit and veg. We never has cakes, biscuits or crisps in the house. Rarely had processed stuff like burgers and chips etc and I've still ended up with a weight problem!

Anyway gone off topic a bit...

Fruit and veg is awesome for everyone, they are just saying it shouldn't play such a big part in toddlers diets as in older kids and adults!
