to tell or not to tell?

when everyone gets there BFP will they tell family and friends and here straight away or wait to tell?


with nathan i waited till 14.2 weeks and everyone thought i was mad but i was really worried that something would go wrong.

well first off i would tell DF lol and would have to tell my mum as i live with her, so that means i would have to tell my dad, would tell DF's mum and dad and i would tell 3 of my mates, and DF would probably tell his best mate (whos GF is pregnant now!) so....near enough everyone LOL

most other people who i know i would probably tell after 12 weeks!

We want to wait until at least 12 weeks before telling. I think I'd be too paranoid to say anything sooner.

i'd tell my mum straight away and my best mate at work...because i'd need their support whether or not the pregnancy continued

I told straight away for two reasons.

Main one - I found out on a Thursday and that weekend we were actually going to Dublin to see my family as we were staying in the UK for the Christmas holidays anyway it was the perfect opportunity to tell them in person out wonderful news.

2nd reason - it was Christmas and I normally like a drink NO-ONO would have belived me saying I was on tablets cos everyone knew we were ttc'ing.

also I'd had a previous mc and it was absolutely awful having to tell my dad on the phone that I'd lost my baby without having the pleasure of telling him I was pregnant we had planned to go home a few weeks later to tell them our news but alas wasn't to be.

For me and my DH it was the right thing to do and I'd tell early again.

I told straight away because everyone knew we were TTC anyway and we were so happy that we got BFP

I would only tell my DH, my sister & 1 friend at work till im at least 12 weeks...It just adds to the upset if you lose it when every ones asking you how you are. And when you see someone you havnt see for ages and they ask you how the LO is!!

This time i only told my OH as my mum said she would leave the country if i had any more babies, but she didnt she was more upset that i didnt tell her streight away, i didnt tell her in the end till i was about 14 weeks

We told our immediate family only on first pg. Was so lonely when I mc, I wanted the support of all my friends.

Second time around we told all our family and friends (But not colleagues...except for ones that were friends). I am glad we did because I had so much support after my mc. People were so kind. I would do it the same way this time.

I voted for waiting til the scan, just in case.
