Hi everyone. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant with my second baby. I was sick everyday with my son but otherwise felt ok. However this pregnancy I haven't been sick at all but for the last couple of weeks I have been crippling tired. I work 9-1 Monday- Friday and as soon as I pick my 3 year old up at half 1 I could just cuddle up and sleep. He no longer naps and I feel like a terrible mum to be dozing off on the sofa. I feel so guilty. My husband is doing loads of house Work after finishing his work at night etc. Has anyone got tips on how to combat this? I go to bed at 9 and sleep straight through (other than trips to bathrrom) until 7. So I shouldn't be this tired

I suffered with tiredness with my first but once you are in your second trimester it does get better. X

I used to do 12.5 hours nights until a few weeks ago too so I really feel for you they are dreadful at the best of times! I've since moved to community nursing so that is better but I really wish this would hurry up and pass lol x

Yes I work in a care home when I have worked my colleagues have looked after me and not let me do any moving and handling but it's a long night I might have to have a word with my manager and see if they can shorten them somehow not sure how as I do 8-8 and it's busiest times at the start and end of shift as getting residents suppers and then in bed and then they start buzzing from 5:30 wanting to get up xx

Hi,

My experience is that I'm even more tired now in tri 2 than I ever was in tri 1. Everyone is different. I do have some caffeine each day though (below the recommended daily limit) which helps. I found an hour's nap also helped sometimes, or some fresh air.

Part and parcel of being PG I'm afraid! x
