Here is another one of my informative emails that I get through still giving tips on how to get pregnant. Thought I'd add it here for you all to read as I found it very interesting.
Just a quick note today to address a particular concern
that many of you think might be affecting your
fertility.
If you have been told that you have a tipped uterus
and worry it might be keeping you from getting
pregnant, let me assure you that most often, it does
not cause any problems.
Here are the facts:
In most women, the uterus tips slightly forward toward
the bladder, but in some women, it tilts backward toward
the spine.
A tipped uterus occurs in approximately 20% of women
and is usually something they are born with. However,
sometimes the tipped uterus is actually a symptom of an
underlying problem which is causing it to be tilted, such
as endometriosis or PID (pelvic inflammatory disease).
In that case, it is not the tipped uterus causing fertility
problems, but rather the underlying condition itself.
So if you have been told you have a tipped or retroverted
uterus by your doctor and don't have any signs of an
underlying condition (such as painful sex, or painful
periods), then you need not worry that the tilted uterus
is causing any problem in getting pregnant.
TIP: If you have a retroverted uterus, the best position
for intercourse is rear-entry, otherwise known as "doggy-
style." It allows for the deepest penetration and is also
a good position even if you do not have a tilted uterus.
After intercourse, lie on your belly with your hips raised
instead of your back when you have a tilted uterus.
