Hi, just wondered if anyone has any experiences or knows of anyone who has experienced thyroid problems? I have had all checks and everything is fine apart from my thyroid level being 4.8, I have regular periods, have had HSG, partners had 3 sperm test and all really good. If it's not thyroid it's a mystery? xxx

Your thyroid is in what they class as a normal range, however it is recommended that for conception and sustaining a pregnancy it is under 2. Have you been offered medication to lower it?

My thyroid tests came back at between 2.2 and 2.4, which they deemed close enough. However I went on to have further tests that revealed that I have high levels of thyroid antibodies, for which there is no treatment currently but they have linked with trouble conceiving and mc. I was signed up to a medical trial and while I don't know if I have the actual trial medication or the placebo I do know that my thyroid levels are now down to 1.2 and I'm now pregnant. Is there a link who knows but I would certainly push to get your level lowered.
