Hey guys,
I'm 6 weeks pregnant and the doctor asked for a thyroid test, the result came and it was 2.8.
She said it's a bit high and the levels should not exceed 2.5 .. as result she put me on levothyroxine 25 mcg once a day! Isn't this medicine used for pple who have inactive thyroid gland not the other way around. Plz help me understand cuz I'm so confused right now !

Thank you in advance ❤️❤️

It depends what figure she was referring to. I have an under active thyroid caused by having a baby. They usually test your TSH ( thyroid stimulating hormone) and T3 hormone. My TSH level was way above the normal range. This happens when there isn’t enough thyroxine in your body and it causes your pituitary gland to overproduce TSH. You can always ask for a copy of your blood test results x
