Kieran has started sucking his thumb alot. He used to do it now and again but over the past week or two he has been doing it nearly all the time.

I have tried giving him a dummy but he won't take one. I'd prefer him to have a dummy though because atleast when he's older that can be taken off him.

Is there anything I can do to stop him doing it?

I'd not worry tbh and let him suck his thumb. Chances are it'll be a stage/phase and he'll grow out of it soon enough. It may be teething related. Galen has a few weeks here and there where he thumb sucks and then stops. He didn't do this till he was at least four months old and is defo not what I consider a thumb sucker now.

Also if you introduce a dummy you'll be running around popping it back in whenever it falls out and LO can't find it.

Lots of children grow out of thumb sucking early on. And also I've found generally that a true thumb sucking baby does so from very early on and doesn't stop and start with it like your LO is seeming to do.
