...Is the difference between our LOs going to school at 4 or 5!

If babies are born on Sunday or anytime before, they go to school a year early, Monday or anytime afterwards means they'll start school a year later...

Which means another year of paying for childcare! :(

LOL I know it's random... Just thought I'd share! x

lol! I remember going to school at 4 and half years! Something to do with when you are born in the year isnt it?!
Random english system that it is!

My birthday is 24th September and i'm due on the 20th September. I always really liked being one of the eldest at school so I'm quite pleased that this LO will be the same.

It is bizarre that a day can make such a difference. A whole school year! Means kids born in August will leave school at 15, and potentially graduate at just 20 years old.

In England - in Scotland the school year runs from 1 March to 28/29 February.

Valentine Xxx

I know Lisa!! Wierd isn't it! 1 day = 1 year!

My bday is 25th Sept and I always LOVED being one of the eldest!

I just don't know how I'll afford the extra year of childcare! Bummer! xx

As far as I know the schools round here actually have an intake in January and April depending on birthdays  They also start going half days at first to break them in gently. I know not all schools are like that tho and some only have intakes in September. Not sure what is for the best.

Now its been mentioned I'm really thinking of the enormity of these next 2 days for giving birth. It really does make a difference

Children aged 3-4 should get some free childcare!!
Hun try not to worry about that now heehee its years off! You dont know what will be going on then! You may be in a total different situation and may even have mroe children then too!! heehee

It is crazy though the school thing! My sons are both one of the youngest in the class! Joseph was born on the 21st July, his friend (my friends dd) was born the September before and was walking before he was born! Yet they are in the same class! Hes just turned 9 and she is nearly 10!! haha

emma my 4 year old starts school this sept (a week tuesday) and she isn't 5 till january

I am 10th sept - one of the oldest in my class. Liked that and liked the idea of the baby coming in septembr thinking he will be older than the rest..but now am thinking the same - why lose a year for a mere few days because our due date is 3rd september. Rooting for 31st aug baby but I am sure its going to be mid sept...

a few days and one whole year of waiting to start school..bizarre

i was born in sept and was one of the eldest in my class

Benjamin was born in July and he's starting school on Tuesday! He will only turn 5 on the 9th of July next year!

Oliver will be the same, he will turn 4 in the middle of June, and will start school that Sept.

This baby is going to be born Sept/Oct and will have an extra year at home.

I was hoping that she would be an August baby so that she could go to school early too, but it's not going to happen (least for the fact she will be too little).

If she had have been born this month, I would have had all 3 of mine at the same primary school at the same time!!!

My youngest newphew was born on 6th December last year, so now 9 months old...and will be in the same year at school as my LO!

I'm having an october baby so mine will start a year later. But thats an extra year of having them at home with me! :cheer: :cheer:

 I really want a September baby, everyone keeps saying I should have the baby early, like I can choose, but I really want the oldest in the class - is that weird? I didn't realise how much I thought about it until this week when Sept' is now suddenly close. I don't know why I care, one of those silly things the hormones make seem important when you know they're not!!

Hummm thats a strange thought. I was one of the youngest at school because of my June Bday and I liked it but I would feel odd with Pip being one of the oldest in her year?
