Me again!

I had a little bit of brown stuff today, exactly 35 days after the last tome I had some brown stuff. Both times haven’t led to a flow. But I’m convinced this is my body trying to have a period as before I fell pregnant my cycles were 35 days long.

I was on the pill for a few years with average flow, had my son, had the coil for four years with no periods at all, back on the pill for a couple of years with very light flow and when I came off it to TTC my flow was still very light, I mentioned it on here back at the time. Then I fell pregnant and had a miscarriage at 6 weeks in December. No period since.

I’m now thinking the miscarriage might have happened because of thin lining. And thinking I’m not getting periods now because of super thin lining, next to none.

hospital knocked me back for a scan as I mentioned in my last post due to corona.

what’s the chances if I explain my theory to my doctor they’ll give me something to help thicken my lining???

has anyone ever had thin lining issues??? What happened? Did your doctor help?

I know when my friend was going for ivf she had to inject estrogen beforehand!

I’ve been trying all sorts of natural stuff as I mentioned in my last post, but if anyone had any suggestions to thicken a lining I’m all ears!

thanks xx

I honestly have no idea but didn't want to read and run. Maybe you can do a virtual appointment and ask your provider about possibilities? Check your blood work for your estrogen level, maybe they'd start you on estrace? I guess you wouldn't really know without an ultrasound of your lining, but given the restrictions, maybe your provider will have another idea. Hope you get some answers soon! Xx

Thanks Kels, I really appreciate you replying!
Going to phone the doctor tomorrow xxx

Just off the phone with the doctor! She was nice, wasn’t the same woman as last time but when she came on the phone she repeated all my history to me first so I didn’t really need to tell her it all myself.
She’s going to write to gynaecology about the fact that I’d been experiencing light periods, miscarriage and now I’m having ‘mini periods’ (her words) that are even lighter. She’s going to see what they suggest. My scan request is still in the system. She said that they’re starting to work through the backlog at the hospital now that corona has died down and hopefully they’ll get to that soon enough. That paired with whatever gyno say will be what makes them take action. The doctor can’t be the one to suggest oestrogen or progesterone, it has to come from specialist level at the hospital.
She said that I need to keep trying and that even if it does result in another miscarriage that’s all information that’s going to spur them along to help me quicker

Sounds like that's a step in the right direction! :)

I agree with @SockVortex for sure! Hopefully you'll have some answers soon! Xx

I'm not an expert, but here's my input:

Generally, it was my understanding that pregnancy would tend to fail at implantation if the lining is insufficient.
I have been battling a thin lining in my IVF and frozen transfers. I have had a hysteroscopy as a result and that was normal. I also have light periods and used to have the copper coil.

I did notice during my IVF round that my lining was it's best during the stimulation round rather than the frozen cycles. In the frozen cycles, you take estrogen tablets and my lining just didn't thicken in response to them, but it was always the correct structure (trilaminar). It then dawned on me that perhaps my lining responded better to my body's own estrogen... this was confirmed when I used stimulation (FSH) to stimulate a few follicles in my ovary as they then release estrogen and that cycle my lining was better - but still not amazing.

There are definitely things that can be explored and I hope you get some answers :)

I also wanted to add, for my my newest IVF round - I didn't have the hcg version of thetrigger shot prior to egg collection (as they were worried about OHSS due to my estrogen level and hcg can worsen the symptoms, but as they only collected 4 eggs, (odd), I had a half dose of hcg on collection day. My lining was 6.5mm on collection day, and 5 days later 8.77mm - say WHAT!! I've never had that before. Best I had was 7.1mm. So HCG priming is something I also read about in research papers, so perhaps this is something you can explore also :)

I got a bfp with this round and I'm 9 days past 5 day transfer/14dpo. Just need to know it's in the right place and sticking around and then I'll settle a bit! x

So much I don’t know! Fingers crossed gyno take my case on! Been trying for a year with one miscarriage and I’m 30. They could very well turn round and tell me to wait another year before they even look at me.

Congratulations on your bfp!!! I really really really hope this is it for you xxx
