Will a pregnancy test be positive 3 days after sex?

They usually need to be taken a few days after a missed period.

Depends when you had sex. As Andy said it's normally after missed period but some of them can do a couple of days before that

I hadn't had a period in a few months so was trying to work out conception date . I'm due 8th April . Did a test on 25th July was negative then did one a week later on 1st August and it was positive . I was thinking it would of been around 16th July I would have conceived as thought the weekend of 30th July wouldn't of been positive so quick on the Monday .

I think 3 days is definitely too soon. Implantation occurs around 7 days after conception (up to 5 days after you have sex), and most people won't get a positive test until around 11 days after conception. So yes, very likely that if you had sex on 16th July a test on 25th could be negative and a test on Aug 1st positive.
