So my kiddo is almost 11 months old and has two of his top middle teeth coming through, and still no bottom ones... His top ones are about half way through I'd say, and he has no others peeking out. On his bottom gums I can see one lump where his left middle tooth should come in but that's been there for months and still no sign of it coming through.

I always thought the bottom two come in before the top two and then they fill out from there, so is this normal? At what point do I worry about his bottom teeth coming in?

Thanks for any advice/experiences xx

A child is completing a physiological change of milk teeth to permanent teeth by the age of 12. By 12 years there must be 24 permanent teeth in the oral cavity: incisors, canines, 1-st and 2-nd premolars and 1 molar. At the age of 13, the eruption of the second molar begins (7th tooth). But you probably should visit a dentist. He knows better.

My kid is only 11 months old though..

I wouldn't worry too much. Although I think it is usually the bottom two that come through first, lots of babies have them come through in a different order.

My daughter is nearly 15 months and her bottom two were the only teeth she had for ages. Her top two and one other bottom one came through in the last 2 weeks.

According to 'the norm' she's late with her teeth coming through but I'm not concerned. If you are worried, you could always book in with her dentist for a chat.

Thanks Emily :)
I’m trying not to worry about what’s ‘normal’ too kcuba s he’s always done things out of the normal order, usually before though.
Just wondering if anyone’s experienced a tooth to take months to break the gum when others have broken first.

Glad He’s not the only kiddo who’s going to have just two teeth for a while, though he’s gonna look like such a dork with it being his top ones haha ❤️❤️
