Just thought I'd pop in cause I spoke to them yesterday and still don't really understand the ins and outs but basically if your husband/partner earns 42k or more (which includes car benefit etc) it doesn't matter what you earn, you'll get nothing. They work it out on household income so even though I now get nothing (mat pay ended last month and not going back to work) we are still entitled to nothing as dh just hits that threshold![]()
Trying really hard to not get on my soapbox about paying tax for 15 yrs and now I could do with something back as our household income has nearly halved but considered too well off is a bit irritating, we are most definitlely not well off.

Mine and dh's combined wage is approx £17000,we have 4 kids and have to scrimp and save to afford any luxuries. We live in north Lincolnshire where housing is fairly cheap so we live in a big 14 roomed house for 625 a month. If we lived anywhere else in the country I doubt we'd survive xxx
