Taking bloods question?

Has anybody had there bloods taken yet at their booking in appointment?

I have mine on Tuesday and right now I really really really don't feel up for it. I am ill and queasy EVERY day and I cannot stand needles anyway. Everytime I have had "loads" of blood taken I start feeling sick and faint. If its just a quick jab im ok and walk out of there as if nothing has happened ( yer im weird ).

I got told by my midwife the other week that they are going to be taking "loads" of bloods.

Is it that bad???

Honesty please so I can prepare myself and take a bag to throw up in just incase

when i went they took 1 blood test but took a large amount and then didvided it between whatever tests they sent away it was in for about 30 secs and it wasnt that bad xx promise x take a sugary drink in with you as it will stop you feeling faint and ask them to open window x

Ohhh thanks, I never even thought about taking a sugary drink! I will turn up armed with my Lucozade!!!

it will help and if you tell them ur nervous they will be sympathetic also try and breath in and out slowly to keep calm xx

My first blood test I felt horrible but my second they took half as much and was fine

Hi hun,

They couldn't get mine so I had to go to the hospital the next day to have them done! It was fine, didn't hurt, but ended up with a massive bruise from where she was trying to find a vein. Just don't look. You'll be ok

I can relate to this hunni due to major needle phobia i never had any bloods taken in either of my previous pregnancies and dont intend to this time,

Know exactly how you feel but if you can manage to stay calm i guess that would help, really feel for you and hope all goes well xxx

argh i hate having bloods done! they took about 5 lil tubes from me 2 weeks back
i think they checked my blood 3 times with my DD xxxxxx
