Just want peoples opionions. I really like this name for a girl and its top of our shortlist at the moment; Sydney Jenifer Scott.

Thing is my mum says its a boys name, and whenever they tell people there name, people will asue they are a boy.

Personnaly I assosicate the name with girls these days is its a very old fasioned name for a boy and normally spelt Sidney for a boy.

Just wondered what you think, does it sound more like a boy or girl name?

I really wanted Sidney for my son, but my cousin has a Sydney, and she's gorgeous!

In retrospect, I actually think it suits a girl much better. It was the Neve Campbell character in Scream, wasn't it?

Oh yeah. I Choose it after Sydney Bristow Played by Jenifer Garner in Alias. Its my fav program ever.

Plus my mums middle name is Jenifer, so she can think they are named after her!

I really like the name Sidney Cat. Its trendy, but also very pretty.

I only know one 'Sidney' but its spelt 'Sidonie' (pronounced the same)

Spelling it like that makes it a bit more feminine maybe?

I like it.
I was staying with a friend in Sydney Australia when I found out I was expecting, she was saying I should call the baby Sydney!
We wouldnt though, I like it, but not as much as the names I have picked (Maisie/Oliver)
Jo

Well my grandad is called Sydney so unfortunately its the first thing i think of when i here that name! sorry

I thinks it ok for a girl, maybe spelt differently though?!
