If baby isn't here by Tuesday my midwife is going to do a sweep..but only if baby is engaged

If i do get a sweep, what do they actually do and should i expect??

the midwife will insert her fingers into your cervix and run her fingers around the edge to seperate the membranes.

when i had mine it didnt hurt, just felt a bit uncomfortable. it was over in less than half a minute. i was in the latent stage of labour when i had mine and it did seems to bring the contractions a bit closer together and move things along a bit.

good luck, i hope it works! :)

my MW did me a sweep when my waters started going to encourage the labour...

Literally she put her fingers up and "swept" in a circle in the cervix..

I wouldnt call it painful, just unconfortable...

Some women can have a lil bleed afterwards too... i did..

i might be having a sweep tomorrow, im scared stiff
