I am having a sweep tomorrow before my induction on Thursday just wondered for the ladies who had their babies early did a sweep work for you?

Is there a medical issue for you to be induced this early? Sorry I haven't followed what you've said before...

Dawn

Absolutely - have gestational diabetes on insulin and have been having growth scans every two weeks and she is well above the 97th percentile weighed approx 9lb 11 at my 36 week scan so they have decided better out than in!

Hiya

I had a sweep the Saturday before I had Jack at around lunchtime. Nothing much happened right after, some red blood and very light stomach cramps.

Then all day Sunday through to Tuesday had very regular painless braxton hicks.

On the Tuesday had some more light pinky bleed before bed and at 2.30am my waters broke and contractions started soon after.

I can't say whether it was the sweep or not but I go my baby within a few days! :)

Hope it works for you  xx

Thanks hun its only got 48 hours to work before they induce me so i shouldnt be held in suspense for long!

I had a sweep at 37+6, I had oligohydramnios (low fluid) and if that didn't work I was booked in for an induction at 39 weeks. The sweep worked, I went into labour 24 hours later, but it was another 30 odd hours before I had her. Good luck!
