i have applied for the 500 pound sure start, i posted the form last friday, any ideas on when the money shud be in bank? do they write to me first or just put the money in?? xx

You need to have been granted your Tax Credit first. Once this is in place they will pay in to your account.

We've only just got ours (see my thread in this section) and Jack is 3 1/2 months old!

but i qualify as im on income support so i dont need to wait for the tax credits xx

It took about 3 weeks for my letter to come through and the money was in my account 2 days later

Then it may only take a couple of weeks to come through if you already get that The woman on the phone (VERY rare to get through to one of those people) said it usually only takes a couple of weeks when it's granted so hopefully you'll have yours soon.

i got mine very quickly, once they actually saw that i saw on income support.
even though it said on their system that i had been awarded IS, i had to wait until the first payment went into the bank before they would pay me the sure start.

good thing is that if they deny you for any reason you can now appeal without re-filling in the form. hope you get sorted, the extra money come sin very handy, especially this time of year!
