Suppose i should ring midwife!

Sorry ladies im coming across as a bit of a moaner and im really not lol

I got given a leaflet and i have to ring midwife myself to arrange everything, just a lil bit scared of doing it because im so early ~ does that make sense?

I feel stupid for feeling this way i mean come on im 32 with 2 kids but so scared too, gonna go buy the folic acid too, actually wish i hadnt found out so early

It is not silly to be scared - but I am sure your midwife will be lovely and once you get booked in and start the ball rolling you will feel better - I went to the midwife at 5 weeks and have my date for my 12 week scan already - I think you are better to go sooner rather than later

I made my appointments at 5 weeks, it's not too soon as they are busy and you want your scan app sorted, it did seem like a lifetime waiting for my booking in appointment though which I was given for 13 weeks after my 12 week scan!

i rang the mw just over 5 weeks had a booking app a week later then my scan was booked for 12 weeks its nice to have everything sorted x

dont be scared u will be fine. i rang at 5 weeks, got an appointment at 8 weeks then scan at 12 ! was lovely to get the ball rolling, made it sink in as well x

Hopefully! Altho was same with other 2 didnt really "click" with me til 12 week scan.

The only good thing my gp did was to tell me to buy folic acid over counter instead of paying a script charge x

You'll be fine hun, I first called the midwife at 4 weeks preggo and she booked me in for when I was 8 weeks. And defo start the folic acid asap xxxxxx

u get free perscriptions when pregnant ?! altho i did buy it over counter 1st but from now on u should get free ones ! another good reason to go to midwives ! x

Whaaaat do they give it on prescription? OMG I spent a bloody fortune on that stuff lol I even took it til the day I went into labour. It was like OCD I couldn't stop lol Took it for 8 months before we TTC too!

Gp never mentioned free scripts this time,

Just had call from midwife for my details said i'd get a letter in a week or 2 for booking in then a scan app she sounded nice even said congrats x

I phoned the doctor when I was 5 weeks 2 days pregnant.
They put me through to the midwife and she made an appointment with me for just FOUR days later!
I saw her on that day, I had a check-up, she asked me questions and then I got my scan date in the post and then a midwife phoned my house a few days after and told me she was coming to my house for an hour and a half appointment.

Scan happened, Midwife appointment happened and now I'm due another midwife appointment on the 6th July
Good idea to get some folic acid too, I took mine as soon as I found out I was pregnant and also you need to ring the midwife!! The sooner you get appointments booked, the better. You don't want to be on a waiting list or anything xxx

The midwife filled in a form for me at my booking in appt at 8 weeks for free prescriptions and dental treatment... but she never mentioned I could then get folic acid on prescription. Bah blooming humbug lol

At least if I get preggo again I'll know better next time.

You're midwife will fill a form for you hun to get free prescriptions and free dental treatment til 1 year after your due date xxxxxx
