Just wondered what you all thought.

I've got polycystic ovaries and am nearly 11 weeks pregnant.

when i sneeze or cough a bit hard, im getting a bad stabbing pain around my right ovary.

My last scan showed my ovaries are bulky but wasn't sure if i should worry. Haven't got another midwife appointment til 17th march.

When I sneeze, cough etc I get a weird pain down by my right overy. (i've got pcos too)
I think I've read around here that people have had that weird pulling/stabbing pain when they cough sneeze.
If you can ring the midwifery team/your midwife just to chat and ask. I think last time I rang i rang the switchboard at the hospital and they transferred me through.
Is the pain just there for a minute or so after the sneeze or does it stick around for awhile?
xx

Thank you, that makes me feel better already knowing its not just me.

the pain only lasts a minute or so afterwards.

im probably just worrying myself cos im coming to the end of the first trimester, i've been thinking all sorts over the last week about what could go wrong and this pain has just fuelled me even more.

think im getting paranoid, lol

Still to this day I have to double up before I sneeze (which is a lot since BFP) otherwise I get a horrible sharp pain down low. Coughing if persistant has caused the same problem. I don't have pcos.

It's something to do with loose ligaments (to allow your uterus to stretch) and pulling/straining them, or something. I was told it's nothing to worry about and completely normal when I mentioned it to my MW. :D

I've got PCOS and I'm getting a pain when I sneeze too, really sharp stabbing pain for only about 5 seconds or so. I didn't really associate it with my ovary, I assumed it was ligaments over-stretching or something. I haven't been worrying about it but if you're concerned I'd phone your midwife. Then let us know what she says! I'm scared my guts are going to pop out when it happens to me and have to clutch my tum when I sneeze to try and stop the pain.

I see we've all got it! Hurrah! This place is ace for reassurance.

Thank you ladies!!! :D :D

I will worry no more. it seems to be quite common among us pregnant people so im sure its nothing to be concerned over.

I don't know what I'd do without you girlies sharing your ailments too!! lol.
Strangely all my pregnancy type pains seem to be on the right hand side of my body... my right boob is always the sorer (made up word?!) one, and my right leg/hip/joint bit is always the one that hurts when I lay down weirdly lol.
And any left side pains tend to be trapped wind lol
xx

I get this when i cough and sneeze too...good to know its nothing serious as you can never help but worry...but now reassured :D

I remember when it first happened, I driving home for work, I sneezed and was just in the increased CM (sorry TMI  ) stage- oh my god by the time I got home I was in tears convinced it was all over (nothing like a drama queen! :rotfl:)

Worrying is what we do best in Tri 1,
. . . and Tri 2 . .
and Tri 3 . . .
and all the way until they are all grown up (even then it doesn't stop!) :rotfl:

Hi!

I get this too! Mainly if im laying down in bed and cough, and i had it last time, i think its to do with the uterus and its ligaments stretching etc....It only started up last week, but it well hurts!

Yeah I get it too, particularly on the right side too weirdly, although occasionally on the left. Pretty sure it is the stretchy ligament thing as it hurts when I stretch/turn too fast/pretty much do anything too lol! God it's pretty crap being pregnant isn't it!
