hey everyone, i've decideed to stopb.feeding and just wondered how is best to do it? i've not usedbreast milkfor 2 daysnow and although my boobs dont feel to massive or painful (i never producedmuch milk anyway) i didnt know whether its safe to stop quite so cold turkey,,,, any advice!
xx

cant be much help i was expressing andtop up boob feeding but due to meds i had to stop i had one day of uncomfortable and now they just leak when she crys but are slowly stopping i think it ok to just stop but i may be wrong on that

Hey hon, I wound it down slowly to make it easier for me and bubs - I dropped a feed every week or so but then I was over-producing milk so this was the best way for me. I fed for 7 and a half months and started dropping feeds at about 5 months so did it slowly - doesn't mean that's the right way, just what I did. If u r coping with doing it cold turkey, then I don't think there's any issues - just watch up for blocked ducts x x x

I gradually substituted breastmilk feeds for formula, it probably took about 3weeks. I would say it's best to do it gradually as formula is a lot harder to digest than breastmilk.

Thanks ladies. Not to sound stpuid but how would I know ig I had a blockage? Hrs been on formula more thn b.milk for the last week so is used to it and beforehand it was mixed feeding X

It would be a hard lump sore to touch if you had a blocked duct x
