Stopped Rigevidon on Tuesday

Hi,

I stopped taking the pill Rigevidon on Tuesday so I'm just waiting for the withdrawal bleed to start in the next couple of days. I have started taking seven seas trying to conceive vitamins so that I get enough folic acid. I was just wondering how long after taking the pill it took other people to ovulate and have their first proper period again? I've been on the pill for 13 years since I was 15. I went on it because I had extremely painful and irregular periods so I'm really worried that's what they will be like again. I spoke to the nurse the last time I got the pill to say that we would be trying soon and she said as I was 15 it may not be a true indicator of what my periods will be like once I'm off the pill. We're planning on waiting until I have my first real period again and then we will be trying to conceive.

Anyone have any experience of this? I know everyone is different so no one hard rule just hoping it doesn't take too long to come back so that we can start trying.

Slightly different, but I stopped the Implanon (implant) after being on it nearly my whole adult life, took 5 months for my cycles to settle but now are much lighter and shorter than when I was a teen. It takes a lot less time to settle with the combined pill, I know people who conceived after missing just one pill in a cycle so you will definitely be ready to start trying soon.

Hi Kazz1n. I was on the pill - Microgynon - and I ovulated 21 days after my withdrawal bleed started. I was on it for 10 years for very similar reasons - heavy painful periods. I found OPK's useful just to work out if/when I was ovulating after finishing the pill. x

I was on the pill for 13 years before TTC. First 3 periods were a bit weird- between 23 and 25 days and the actual blood loss was tiny, they only lasted a day and a half! Had acupuncture cycle 4 and caught on cycle 5. I have read that you're really fertile the month you come off the pill though so good luck! PS- I ovulated straight away but in the first 3 cycles I had a really short follicular phase of about 9 days...all settled down by cycle 4, whether that was due to acupuncture I don't know xx

Thanks everyone �� Hoping mine won't take too long to come back then and that they are lighter than before I went on pill! I know a few people who got pregnant straight away after going off the pill. Hubby wants to wait until I get my first real period again before trying as that's what the nurse suggested. Hoping it won't take too long though but also know realistically it can take months to get pregnant if not longer. Gonna try not to obsess over it even though I already am haha. Good luck everyone ��
