Why is it like this?? Ever since i got pg ive had a really bad tummy, everytime i need to go for a number 2 it cripples me, i know i need one before i have the urge as i easily recognise this pain now. Its not like im constipated either im still as normal although a little bit of the runs today :( and one again was in alot of pain, i have ibs you recon its that or have any other ideas as to what it could be, im fed up of it now

Hi Mel

It could be a bit of IBS, I have suffered with it for years and its actually got a bit worse during pregnancy.....the problem is the symptoms of IBS are so similar to ones you get in pregnancy.

Some of the main symptoms with IBS are:

Passing Mucus (not a symptom of pregnancy)
Constipation
Upset Stomach
Wind & Bloating

Maybe a good idea to speak to the doctor???

Mel could it be piles? i have had this all through my pregnancy and its bloody painful!!! :( try using Anusol cream and also, oh bugger, forgot but its something you put in a glass with water and drink, grrrr i will try remember for you hun lol, anyway using both of them i found got rid, just a shame i am too lazy to use them all the time and it comes back

its not in my bum the pain, its in my tummy hun

Yip im pretty much the same, although i have everything mentioned here.
I now go to bed expecting to be woken by excrutiating pain followed by either diorreah(sp) or sitting on the loo with nothing happening.
I also have piles. The stuff you put in water is Fibogel it tastes rank but is meant to make stools softer, doesnt help much with the tummy pain but helps with my sore ass

Hi Mel

I'm like you, I suffer with IBS and being pregnant has agrevated it more. My bowels are so slow and I find some days I really suffer with a pain in my gut. Not a need to go to the toilet, but a strong build up of wind. It is so painful and uncomfutable at times and it seems to be worse if I have a big meal. My bowels are also a lot slower (they always have been to be honest, but they are even more so now). I have museli for breakfast which makes going to the toilet a bit easier. The only museli I have found that is edible is Dorset museli

This is a link to their site http://www.dorsetcereals.co.uk/

I think I have a fairly good diet and I know when I don't eat as well it tends to flare up more. I can't eat crisps, chinese or anything like that as I'll be rolling around on the floor in pain. Luckily I can still manage chocolate!!! God what would my life be like without my daily fix of chocolate

i'm glad i am not the only one experiencing this.
i don't get it often, i've only had it twice, and only since i have been pregnant. it's so painful. i have to lay in the fetal position and i can't movie. it's even hard to breath. after about experiencing this pain for about a half hour, but it seems like an eternity, i get terrible gas. i'm let them rip all night long. i dont have diareah, or constipation though.

melandbean do you by any chance get a pain in your left area just to the side of your hip bone and above your pubic bone?
And sorry if I'm asking for too much private info from you! but do you ever get bubbling sensations there just before you bottom burb?

I have a pain there too (sort of behind my hip bone). Been worrying me for the past 24 hours! (sorry to but in...was just having a nosey in 2nd tri....)

I'd love to know what it is. Really worries me.

no its like excrusiating period pains, doublesd over in pain again just now :(

It sounds like Trapped wind...

Wind isnt bad when your not pregnant ok it hurts but when you are sheesh kebabs it hurts! I remember one night I had it so bad I thought I was going into early labour...

Wind is also common if you suffer with IBS anyway...

As hard as it is when you have the pain try walking about the house, also sticking your bum in the air can help.

If you're on the loo and get it have a little stool or a couple of loo rolls to rest your feet on so your knees are above your stomach if that makes sense... Also read a good mag it will make u relax rather then concetrating on that evil Turd :rotfl:

Also avoid dairy products, and high fibre foods, I used to be a sucker to prunes but had to stop eatting them as they put me in so much pain...

 Hope this helps...

oh no givr up dairy, im craving cheese :rotfl: nooooooooo, i supposed id best cut back though, as its a killer, never thought it was trapped wind, just thought it was pooing but my sis has sugessted it too so i think i best try and figure out whats causing it, thanks alot hunny  not long now eh chick
