Since this morning Aiden has has a really sticky eye, only the one and it looks just like the same thing as when he was born. I didn't think it would come back after the first time, adjoins I take him the doctors?
He doesn't seem to be bothered with it and it doesn't look sore or red. Have just been cleaning it with cool boiled water and it clears for a bit buy comes back whenever he crowds :( it looks horrible and it's sometimes bas enough to stuck his eye closed.

Charley gets a gunky eye after every sleep he has! It's only in his left and however much I clean it, it comes back after he's slept again! I googled it and one thing was the tear ducts being blocked? Not sure if that's right though!
Will be keeping an eye on this thread!

When they're little their tear ducts sometimes aren't big enough to drain everything if their eyes are a bit watery. Toby used to get it when he was little every time he had a cold and was all blocked up - I thought it was conjunctivitis at first but he didn't seem bothered by it and his eyes weren't red at all, just really watery. I think if they're a bit unwell the liquid just doesn't drain properly and they get sticky eyes...I just used to wipe his with cool boiled water towards the edge and as soon as he got better they'd clear up x

Chaz its Aidens left eye too, these kids are seriously twins lol
Yeah the mw said it was tear ducts when he was born but I couldnt remember what she said about if it ever came back.. I'll just keep cleaning it and keep an eye (no pun intended) on it and see how he goes over the weekend :) x

Alex has this too and it was said to be a blocked tear duct as babies cant get eye infections as they are constantly blinking or something cant remember what the doc said but he did get some drops from the doc and its cleared right up but alex was producing snot coloured discharge his was the right eye tho.

My little one has this on and off in his left eye too!! It goes a way for a week or two and then it comes back, he does have a bit of a cold at the moment so that's probably why.

Aww all our poor babas eyes!
It doesnt seem to be as bad today but its still there, poor boy woke up this morning and it looked like his eye had been glued shut!

I've just taken charley to get his jab's and asked to talk to a hv about lots of questions I had, this being 1 of them but she brushed me off when I asked about teething so I didn't ask her everything else. She seemed like she didn't wanna talk to me!

Go back and thump her one! Omg thats her bloody job how dare she. I dont get why people go into proffessions like that and then not bother doing their jobs properly, really gets me mad!

Especially when I felt like a right knob asking to see her it felt like for no reason!

Haha sorry the word knob always makes me giggle

Its not your fault, you can ask them anything and its their job to help, she shouldnt have been like that! Dont feel like a knob, she's the knob!

amelia had this and the health visitor told me to put breast mik on a cotton pad and wipe the eye because it has anti bodies in it i took her to the doctors because it kept reoccuring and the swobs he took came back with infection but it had cleared up by the time we went for the results x
