Just wondering if everyone else has a spread sheet and lists of all the things they need to help with the TTC countdown? My hubby just laughs at me, but I've got it all worked out! How much I'll have each week, When I will go on maternity leave and how many holidays I will use before maternity leave!! I'm trying to fill the next 47 weeks with good things to help the time pass but I'm so excited I can't do anything but think of it!

I've also got a list and prices of all the things I'm gonna buy! I don't need much so I'm saving now so I can go out and buy everything I need in 1 go!

Hi Mrs M,
:dito: I have spreadsheets and lists but I need them to stay in control. I think it is essential for women as we have to fit in everything once those little ones are on the way :preg: and when the arrive :sleepy:. You can't be unprepared.
Let the men laugh, we know what we are doing. :shakehead:

Hi Mrs M, you don't work in Finance by any chance, do you? I am exactly the same, I have loads of lists and most are on excel! haha - I think this is mainly due to my profession though. I would be totally lost without them though.
I too have a list of everything we will need (need to add the prices in yet, as we will be starting from scratch), plus how many holiday days I will accrue whilst on mat leave, how much we will need to cover everything whilst on mat leave, I love to know exactly where I stand with all of this, and I know how much money (to the penny practically) I will need to cover all of our normal outgoings during the 9 months off! I thought I was a little crazy, but Im glad theres someone else out there like me!! :)

I couldnt agree more Kat, I wouldnt like to imagine what it would be like if it was left down to them to organise everything

Vixx!!!! OMG YES!!!!!!! Ha ha ha! I'm an accountant! I like to know every penny I'm entitled to and when I went off on mat the first time I had my payroll manager explain how they work out the mat pay, and how I would know what I get each month as it changes. I'm such a fanny ha ha but I like it that way! I can't control a lot of things but this I can.

It's nice to know I'm not alone.

Haha so funny, Im an accountant too! I had a strong suspicion you might have been, as Im exactly the same, everything goes into excel and I have literally have things down to the penny, we are so sad arent we, but at least we know where we are with our finances and won't have any surprises!! Glad Im not alone too :dance::dance:

:dito: I work in finance but I am a Buyer still, I have a spreadsheet addiction. :rotfl:

Haha Kat, it really must be a finance thing :) at least we are all totally organised, I wouldnt have it any other way!!

I am a "list" lady.

However I won't be doing any calculations whilst WTT or TTC.

I know roughly how it all works from last time so we're currently paying off credit card and I'm sticking money back in my savings account.

Hopefully by the time I am preggers again we'll be in a good position.

I love lists though and I love Excel lists - did all my baby lists in them and currently have my holiday list on the go

X

Hehee oh deary I'm the ditzy blonde one of the bunch!

Professionally I'm super organised and efficient and listy - when it comes to looking at other peoples lives (I'm an OT/ mental health worker, so I must have that streak in me) - in my own- annoyingly daydreamy. At uni I was one of those gits that left their assignments right until breaking point insomnia last minute and still somehow managed to pull it off! If I find something interesting tho I love getting in the zone and researching (geek)..it sort of becomes an addiction for a while. So I guess I can relate to that side of things xx

Stacey I'm exactly the same. When I want something I normally want it now and hate waiting for it and before doing it (whatever it may be, babies, new car, holiday, diets...) I research beyond obsession! It's ridiculous, I will research so much for hours and hours everyday and it'll be all I can think about, so I'm definitely know how you feel and I'm glad I'm not the only one ;) x

Hi girls...I can so relate to you ladies...I have excel spreadsheets for everything.. And also have a tendency to become very focused (oh says obessed) on things when I want them.
Holidays I research to the n'th degree also. I have an excel sheet set up for things i will need to buy and borrow for the expected baby. i also have a monthly finances spreadsheet that is like a comfort blanket. I know some people who can account for every penny they spend...Im not in there league, but I take great comfort in knowing there is more money coming in than going out!

I know to the penny what I've spent, and what I have left - I'm very anal when it comes to money, but I've let myself get into debt before, and then had a miserable 3 years getting back out of it! I don't want to go there again! I'm a shopaholic, but it's good to know I've earned the money before I spend it!

Mrs M you sound like my twin. I'm exactly the same! Very careful now with money, used to be in a lot of debt this time 5 years ago I took out a £17k loan, so I know what it's like and hated it and never want to risk being there again. I'm also a total shopaholic!!!! My challenge this month was to not but myself any shoes clothes or bags!! It's been though haha

I went the whole of January without buying anything for my kids! Except lego for dd, but that was also for dh so doesn't really count! Ha ha!

People at work hate me cos I preach so much about good finances, I just love being in control and not worrying so much, whereas before me & dh used to argue about money all the time. Nothing to fight about now :)
