spotting or what? advise please!

im 12 days late on my period but yesterday i began to get stomach cramps and then the lightest pink discharge/blood (not sure what) shown on a tissue then after that a little in my undies but very watery

is this my period or what is known as spotting

doctors appointment is in place but would love to no what every1 thinks
