SPD & Labour?

For various reasons (including SPD) I haven't made any of my antenatal classes, and my MW isn't in any hurry to discuss labour with me... BUT I've booked a reflexology session in 2 weeks to see if she can get things started, I'll be 37+2 and my next MW appt is the same day so whilst I'm hoping she'll discuss it with me then, potentially I won't have long to get my head round what my options are...

So are there any ladies who can give me any advice on what positions I am likely to have to avoid and which I can possibly manage (from an SPD point of view), what pain relief worked for you and any other tips or advice you might be able to offer me?!?

I'm now finding the BH's are getting painful which my MW tells me is because LO is heading down with each one, so I'm getting a little panicked about actual labour now...

Anything you can offer would be much appreciated. Thanks xx

Hi Hun and congrats
I had SPD in all 3 pregnancies and managed natural deliveries with them all had gas and air and some pethidine . I was on the bed whole time as that was where I was comfy u will find the position that works best for u some ladies like to b on their knees leaning over the back of the bed.
Hope all goes well Hun xxx

I had severe spd and managed a normal delivery on gas and air and 2 paracetamol x

Please excuse any typos from my fat fingers!

If you pm me your email address I can send you a pdf I got from my antenatal clas about active birthing positions xx

I had awful SPD and I was walking about most of my labour, up till I started to feel pressure down below, then I got on the bed, on my knees kneeling over the back of the bed. And I managed it on gas and air x

Thanks guys :) Wow - you all managed on gas & air that sounds promising!!
I can't even stand up straight right now... VV painful so still panicking a bit about how I'm going to manage, but it's reassuring to know that you've all done so well, fingers crossed I have a positive experience as well! xx
