Hiya,

I just wanted to ask if anyone has used lubrication for intercourse whilst pregnant?

Am finding things a little uncomfortable and my GP said that KY jelly would be good. Does anyone think this will be ok to use whilst pregnant?

K.xxx

Sorry, I am not having this problem at the moment as I've been advised not to, but I would think if your GP said it was ok...then why not.

Hope to be here in tri 2, in 2 weeks.

hi someone on another site did find some info on this and said that lube and sex oys were fine to use and if doc says its ok im sure it is. xxxx

i think i need to get myself some. things havent worked the way they are supposed to since i been pregnant  rly uncomfortable

I'm having the same problem, I've never had to use it before and just wondered whether anyone else thought it was any good?

xxx

We've taken to using durex play lube. not the tingle one though that just hurts lol
And we get it delivered in our Tesco online shopping so no embarrassment at the checkout

I'm the total opposite, I seem to be more lubricated down there at the moment

an unflavoured lube should be fine - just watch flavoured ones as they can contain sugar and end up giving you a raging case of thrush

Also watch any tingle/warming ones as they generally work by increasing bloodflow, not sure whether that's good or not in pregnancy?

I'm kinda puzzled by the sextoys are ok though? I own a company which sells adult products and I know the warnings say don't insert anything that isn't your OH's you know what when pregnant. External use should be fine but internal use is something we always warn against.

I think insertion is advised against because there's more risk of introducing an infection, and also because the toy is harder than the penis, there's the risk of damaging the cervix plug.
