I don't think we'll ever be able to make our minds up. I guess we still have some time, but it's soo difficult, and online reviews seem often quite discouraging, as the negative ones for any pram seem to make them out to be baby-eating monsters while the positive ones call the same thing the best thing since sliced bread. There just seems to be no moderation.

Please help me! (Btw our budget is 500 quid including carrycot and carseat thanks to the bloke's parents. It's quite a lot of money in my book, but apparently not when it comes to pushchair shopping)

Hi i dont want to throw a spanner in the works but , have you considered the britax vigour ? it comes in 3 or 4 wheel , very simialr to icherry but without the price tag, the car seat is fantastic , im still able to carry leland in it and his 19lbs , i couldnt carry him in my m&p prima carseat .

please dont go for the pliko , thats whats ive got for sale and forked out for the vigour ! i did love the pliko , but it didnt end up fullfilling all out needs . saying that, might be perfect for you , folds up different to most buggies so u can get more in ya boot ( still need a big boot tho !)

mmm not sure but before i bought my pram system i didnt think about parent facing option.
i bought the silvercross 3d ( similar to Pilko) which was great in pram mode ( for 3months) but then pushchair mode didnt face me and i was gutted!
sorry i havent helped but before i bought my pram i wish someone told me about parent facing option. i have since bought another one!!! good luckxx

I have a Quinny Buzz and I love it, it is really easy to push and I love that she can face me/face out depending on her mood. It is quite big though, but fairly good off road and in town. I would def recommend one where they can do both, especially if you have to move them from the carry cot early (Ella hated her carrycot as she was too nosey!)

My friend has the I Candy and finds it really hard to push in 3 wheel mode, but easier in 4 wheel (although she may have the apple)

Anyone I know with a forward facing travel system has given up on it already and either bought a stroller, or a parent facing travel system.

I have a Loola by Bebe Confort I like it and love hoe easily it folds up and how compact it is. I found it invaluable when LO was small as it's a travel system so car seat fixes directly onto chasis. The chasis is lightweight and easy to carry.

The pushchair element of the Loola is great- good support even for a little baby and still easy to fold pushchair with it on but it is too heavy to lift with one hand and quite heavy even with 2! It's a real downside to this otherwise excellent travel system-in pushchair mode it feels heavy and cumbersome when moving it in and out of the car.

My advice to you would be to try out all of your options for ease of use and weight with the different elements attached! Good luck choosing! Also in case of mistakes, look for one with good resale value on Ebay!

Many thanks for your advice. In the meantime fate intervened. We ambled aimlessly into Mothercare and stumbled over the pram we both always loved and always had ruled out due to price. On a manager's special, 20% off as it's a display model.

We're now the proud owners of a Bugaboo Gecko. We would have never ever in the world have got it at full price as it's so expensive, but we couldn't walk past it at that. It was just a quick call to our sponsors (the in-laws), they ok'd it and we took it home. Well, we took it out of the shop to the car and then back to the shop as I had to ask how you undo it again. Slightly embarassing but nevermind.

It's so brilliant, especially as we do a lot of outdoors stuff. Actually we wanted to follow the old superstition of not bringing the pram into the house before the baby, but at that price it had to be b*ll*cks to superstition.

Now where can I borrow a baby...?

Fantastic! I was going to suggest a Bugaboo as it is the one I secretly wish I had bought! But as you had said your budget thought it may be too much. Take it out with a doll!!!!! :rotfl:
