Sore nipples, advice please?

Since just the other night my nipples have started hurting when Isaac b/f's Since day one I've had no problems with b/f'ding, no sore nipples or anything, but now they really hurt when he latches on and while he's sucking, what could be causing it? Could it be he's started biting as he sucks because of teething/gum pains? Tonight I've give him a bottle rather than breast as it hurts so much Any advice greatly appreciated, I love b/f'ding my son and don't want to stop yet

i didnt breast fed but my sis did and she was having lots of trouble with pain she suggested Lanosinoh (sp) check in feeding section as i put a post on there about it

Thankyou sam My friend used it on her cracked nipples said it worked a treat, I've been using Kamillosan but it's done nothing, think it's a combination of him feeding a lot more and him biting, possibly, but just don't think he's biting, it feels the same except the soreneess during feeds

I was told that the best thing is to rub a bit of your milk after feed on a nipple and leave it exposed.

You can try to express some milk from the suffering nipple as well.

Definitely recommend Laninsoh cream Amy - it's fab. Strangely enough feeds have been more painful for me during the last few days too - definitely not pregnant though!

Yet to get back on the wagon (so to speak) - dreading it, which is making it hard to contemplate working up the necessary inkling and romance!

D bites and if he bites belive me you know...I used the same cream , get plenty of air....Your boobs aren't engorrged are they ?

He's bit a couple of times cloud, I certainly know what that feels like And my boobs have never been engorged, though they have been feeling quite full of late.

Is Isaac BF for longer periods of time? I think the length of time that the baby breastfeeds for can cause sore nipples. I would recommend using Lansinoh too.

cloud you must be psychic or something, my right boob just filled to bursting through the night and this morning I woke covered in milk I've not had that for at least a month, they are still sore though but thankfully no cracking or bleeding
