Ouch!
Well after a day of wandering around a open air museum yesterday, my hips have given up. I dont feel like I walked more than I should have. I hope its not a sign of what is to come.

Any tips on easing/preventing hip pain??
I've been taking it easy and had a lovely warm bath and its not too bad now, laying in bed just makes it worse! :wall2:

Thanks :flower:

hey...
sorry to hear about your hip pain! :( I have had problems on and off with my hips, first it was pain in my right hip, and then it moved to my left hip. It only seems to happen if I have been on my feet alot, doing alot of walking (over a few days), but when it does happen it is excrutiating, to the point that I cant walk! I have found plenty of rest is what really helps, try not to do alot of walking for a week, and take it easy. Warm baths help too. Hope it gets better soon!! xx

Thank you.
Hope your not in too much pain either.

Guess I'll have to be careful. Its hard as I feel just fine and dont feel as though I need to slow down.
I didnt feel as though I did a lot of walking yesterday, we were only out for around 4hrs in total.

I'll have another soak in the bath later with a book x

same prblm with me... i cant sit for much time :(

I've not had this but I've read that using a birthing ball can help with hip pain. Also when lying down make sure not to cross your ankles as this puts pressure on your hip. Apparantly placing a pillow between your legs to keep knees and ankles separated can help ease the pressure. Hope this helps!

Thank you :)

I'm using a pillow during the night. I spend more time awake tossing and turning and arranging my pillow atm :wall2:
No wonder I'm still so tired! x

I've had a few problems with my hips.
Best things you can do are:

-have a hot bath
-sit with your knees about a tennis ball width apart
-dont cross your legs!
-Try putting a pillow under your hips (this made mine worse but I have heard it works for others)
-Put a pillow between your knees
-Try to swap sides your laying on. I find that if I sleep on just one side, Im in agony the next day.
-Wear supportive footwear i.e trainers (mine is always worse after wearing flats)
-When doing things like housework etc, rather than doing it all in one go, do abit for say 30 mins, then rest for abit. Staggering your work load can help
-Dont sit or stand for long periods of time
-If you havent got a memory foam matress, try sleeping on top of a winter duvet
-take paracetamol
-rest, rest, rest!

Hope this helps x
