Good job we still have a while to decide yet! lol xxx

OMG that is a very long list! I think its safe to say that if its a boy theres a good chance that he'll be called William as it appears on both your lists.

Good luck narrowing down the list. xx

wow! I thought my list at first was long!

I do like the name Blake for a boy. but think it could be William since you both like it
always loved the name Scarlett for a girl,

well... have fun choosing when it comes round to it!

you have quite a few of the names I like on your lists, Im the same tho theres loads I like but none I love !!!!

we had bout same ammount to start with,

we then said them outloud with our surname (collins) and eliminated ones we didnt like...

then we got down to bout 15 each for girls and boys, then numbered our top 5 of each, the ones we both picked became our top 5 list....

we then kept saying them over and over again with our surname... and googled how popular they were and meanings,

and then settled on Layla Emily for a girl and Riley Ethan for a boy,

good luck and it has taken us until last week to pick them, lol

xxx

I love henry, I wanted that but it just didn't sound right with our surname :)

i like fraser from the boys list and Saphire or Betsy for a girl :)

Wow that's alot of names!! OH likes William and I've got jared on our list too!! x x

wow loads to pick from Wilma

Boys - love Emmett, Emmerson and Elliott (all were on my boys list)
Girls - Francis , Harriet, Nell, Celeste, Phillipa and Laurel (my brother has a cat called Laurel which ruled it out , but it's lovely and unusal so was also on our list, Harriet also ruled out because sister had a son called Harry)

Go for Emmerson or Laurel !!!

I like Isla or Sophia for a girl and William for a boy since you both have it on your lists.x

Thanks ladies and sorry for the delay.....

Yes there are a lot of names to narrow down so I read them back to DH last night and he reckons he doesnt like about 80% of them so as were going to have to agree on lo name I suppose that cuts the list down for me!

Hes now gone off William tho as friends called her little boy William! Grrrrrrrrr!!!

The ones I have listed tbh are my favs thats why its so hard narrowing it down BUT I think atm if I had to choose names now....it would be....

Boy....Emmet, Frazer, Jared, Dominic, Monty

Girl.....Harriet, Arrabella, Laurel, Eloise, Bridgit!

Just as well Ive still got ages to think of more and change our minds lol xxx

Thanks DC Yeah I do like monty but not sure if OH would go with it lol!! xx

Hiya Wilma

I'm a bit of a snob, and you have a couple of slightly more 'cough' common names there and some slightly more 'eh hum' posh names.

Arabella and Eloise are going to become very well used in the next year or so, so I'd avoid them so as to not have another of the same in the class.

You have the American spelling of Frazer, I would go old fashioned English, Frasier, very nice, very Eton, or the scottish Fraser, which means 'of the forest'

Harriet is lovely, but with every other boy called Harry at the moment, I'd give it a wide birth. Bridget is a great choice, pagan roots, she was an Irish goddess I think

Obviously feel free to ignore me, it's just everyone is terribly nice on here, but I thought maybe a real oppinion rather than a 'it's lovely' to everything suggested might be more helpful.

Starfish xx

Thanks for your reply star.....and no of course I dont mind your honest opinion lol! We still havent been able to shorten the list but plenty time to think of some more before naming day lol!

Bridgit is an all time fav of mine and Harriet too but what we actually end up with in the long run is anyones guess!!

xx
