These were recommended to me by Hillbilly.

Basically they are a natural nut shell that you put inside a cotton bag in your wash instead of using detergents. I was sceptical but have had good results. They're cheaper than using powders and have left my towels etc nice and fluffy. I have still been using non-bio on some of Ella's messy food clothes, but can definately recommend them. :) Personally I use them on a 60 degree wash with a few drops of essential oil in the softener drawer. The ultimate test was on a washload of nappies but they passed it and came up soft, fluffy and clean :D

The reason I am recommending them under baby products is because they are natural they are suitable for even the most sensitive skins :)

Here's the web address if you're interested :)

They sound great, you can send off for free samples??!

Will have a go and post findings!

Yay  I tried them on various different washes (40 degree and fast wash) but didn't find them as good on those ones. On the website they recommend using Ecover bleach in with whites, I haven't got any yet but will try that out too.

On the clothes that don't need a 60 degree wash I do still use powder as I can often get away with a 30 minute wash on some items. :) And when I did my bedding I used Soapnuts but also a bit of fabric conditioner as I love the smell of the yellow comfort one!

Am definately going to give these a go. Washed Serens nappies today, and gave them 3 rinses as I thought there was too much of a detergent build up, there were still bubbles coming out.

Blimey Kina, you'll be knitting mooncups out of lentils next   :D
