So confused.. Help!

Got my BFP today. 1st baby. But I'm a little confused. I keep reading that my pregnancy will be calculated from the first day of my last period(3rd Nov), which would mean that I'm 4weeks & 3days pregnant, is that right?

Will the doc organise my 12week scan based on week 1 starting 3rd Nov?

Also, when looking at pregnancy stages am I to look at what's going on in week 4?

Sorry for all the Q's I'm a complete newbie!

Yes it's calculated that way so essentially you'll get a 12 week scan in around 8 weeks. Oh and yes 4 weeks for development. Congratulations!!! X

Yes, the whole dating thing is a bit confusing. They do it that way because it is a lot easier to figure out when your last period was than work out when you actually conceived.

By the way, they call it the '12 week scan' but in my area the nhs does that scan anywhere between 11 and 14 weeks. I was almost 14 weeks when I got mine.
