i have just been sent a reminder to make an appointment for my cervical smear. is it ok to have it this soon after having a baby. maisy is 14 weeks old..............

here in Switzerland you get a smear done at the six week check........

looks like i had better make an appointment then.........i dread it!

I was told that I couldn't have a smear yet as I was breastfeeding. I have to wait until she is being bottle fed.

I wonder why? I had mine whilst breast feeding.

Ask them why when you go, I'd be curious to know the reason!

The nurse did give a reason but I can't remember it. I'm taking my little girl for her 2nd injections tomorrow :( so I will ask the nurse and will let you know.

I got a smear reminder too but they have put it back to January because George was only 4 weeks old when it arrived.

im sure i was told when i was pregnant that i would have to have one after jack was born as ive never had one before cos im only 20, no-one has said anything sinceand jack is 10 months now :? do i need to make myself an appointment??
im soooo worried about it :(

Was happy to have mine done as she also checked everything had gone back to pre-birth down there too, which was a relief to know all was as it should be :)

i was toldby my doc to wait until alice was 6 months old, as chances are they could still show abnormal cells due to the pregnancy :?

thanks for reminding me though girls. Alice is 9 months, adn i still kinda havn't booked one. I have never had one to be honest. Are they painful, or just uncomfy??
