Hi,
So at our 20 week scan the sonographer couldn't measure the cerabellum and said that our baby was slightly on the small side so made appointment for 2 weeks later. We thought nothing of it as she was in a bad position and I have high BMI. 2 weeks later a different sonographer still couldn't get the measurements so called in a consultant who managed to measure it and has refered us to Kings College Hospital. After spending the day there yesterday a specialist has confirmed that the cerabellum is smaller than it should be which could be a sign of a chromosome issue. She also diagnosed a possible hole in her heart. So after having 6 scans a blood test and an amniocentesis yesterday we are waiting for the results and trying to keep positive. Next week we have to go back for a check up after the amniocentesis and to see a cardiologist.
When the specialist was going through our options she mentioned a termination, when we said that it was not an option, that we couldn't & wouldn't do that, the look on her face said it all. We felt like we were being looked down on for saying that we couldn't kill our baby.
Is anyone else going through this? Were your doctors the same?
Sorry for the long and boring post. xx
