Whatever you want to call them, gro-bags, whatever..

I never used them with kade, i just used blankets..

Someone gave us one, so i thought why not? so... how many do i need in each size? (i have one for 0-3. one for 3-6 etc)
and do you use covers with them at all?

xx

no covers necessary - that's the beauty of them :D

i have 2 that fit connor at any one time, that way i can wash and dry one whilst having another for him to sleep in.

I have 2 in each size so can wash one and wear one.

Fantastic with wriggly babies I wouldnt be without mine!!!! Sometimes put an extra cover on charlie if it seems really cold but generally dont need to :D

I luuuurve the Grobag ones as they cover a wider age range, 0-6 months (roughly, depending on the size of your baby), 6-18 months and so on. The choice of colours and togs/thickness is great too. Fantastic for a squiggly cover-kicker like mine.

Sleeping bags are fab

Just make sure you buy the correct tog for for the time of year, and we have two, one to wash whilst the other is in use :)

Next also do 6-18 months, £16 and some great designs. We got the rocking horse one most recently.

Check what weight your 0-3 one is. Babies under 10lb should not go in a sleeping bag unless the bag specifies it is suitable from 7lb or so. If it is it will have poppers on the sides so as to stop LO from wriggling down in it. If its from 10lb upward, wait till LO is actuallg big enough.

We got 0-6 month ones from Mothercare. 1 tog and a 2.5 tog. We hardly used the 1tog one over the summer (we live rural coastal and its cooler here). Both suitable from 7.5lb.

Also you layer bed clothing accordingly. Atm our bedroom is between 17-19C at night (heated) and we have our LO in a sleepsuit and a sleeping bag. If its warmer he just has a long sleeved body suit on then in the bag. Cooler and he may also wear a short sleeved bodysuit under his sleepsuit.

We have two for each age/stage. One to wear, one for the wash/spare. Never needed more. And our spare one tends to be a cheapie and the one we use most of the time is the more expensive one. I wash the main one once a week and then LO has the spare for a night.

ive got 4 in 0-6 2.5 tog, for when its cooler. its bit excessive as you can manage with two, one on while one is being washed
and 2 in 1 tog for when the room is warmer.

Grobags are great :cheer:
I've got two 2.5 tog and one 1 tog (not using that one any more) in 0-6 months and I'm going to invest in the next size up very soon :D

hi Kadesmummy, i hope you dont mind me adding another question to this post.

People have said no blankets needed but i didnt think there were any arms on babies sleeping bags surely thier arms would be cold? i know they'll have little sleepsuits but if everywhere else is well wrapped up surely they'll need more paddin on thier arms?

Youd have the same problem if you used blankets as you dont put the babies arms under the blanket as they could wriggle under them. Just use long sleved sleep suits and they should be warm enough

Yup what Rachel21 said :) You do the same and put arms over the top when using blankets.

Hands get a bit cold but thats normal for babies anyways. Arms tend to be fine. We find a sleepsuit plenty warm enough for our LO. Thats with the room around a decent temp for baby. Its far from cold at 18C. Baby will be fine with sleepsuit sleeves :)

My sleeping bag says not to use covers with them, as recommended by the SIDS Foundation. Our room gets pretty cold sometimes and Jacob is always nice and toasty when we take him out of his bag. He sleeps much better now that we use one, too.

Our bedroom is always warm we struggle to get it below 22c so Macey has a 1tog sleeping bag and then wears a sleepsuit, she never wakes up and feels a nice temparature no blankets required, if your house is a little colder than that just use the 2.5 tog instead x

If and when you do need more, try tkmaxx, they often have the official growbag ones for about £12 :)

We tend to have 3 of each size and each tog(1.5 and 2.5) this is because Phoebe has reflux and is sick A LOT, so sometimes they aren't dry in time as we don't have a tumble drier.

I'd not be without them, Phoebe's always kicked blankets off from the start, and now they end up being cuddled up by her head!!
