I'm just wondering is their anything you can do to help your lo sit up, my daughter is 22 weeks old so didnt know if their was anything we should be doing, we've got a bumbo which she used to love but now trys pushing herself out of, do babies just suddenly sit up by themselves one day???

We've been just sitting with Galen on our laps or on the floor with legs round him. He more or less supports himself then as he has something to lean against. We also do things like help him sit forward from lying down (gently holding his hands and lower arms and pulling him up to sitting) and he loves that. Gives a big grin every time he sits up then.

Other than that we just keep sitting him up when we can. He only does what he can manage and wants to. If he isn't keen (and hes never not  ) we don't sit him up. Babies won't do what they can't manage.

I'm sure your LO will learn in time to sit up on her own. Just keep encouraging her and propping her up until she sits there without your help. Galen manages on his own for about 20-30 seconds atm and then our hands have to support him round his chest/tummy or hold his hands. More than that he isn't able to do on his own.

Same as what Sherlock has said :)
LO will eventually be able to support herself and wont need to prop herself up on you or anything.
Calleigh sits in her bumbo and highchair. And she also sits up on us or on the floor between our legs and just kinda leans on us with either her arm or back. She has started to sit up by herself for a short time and then she falls to the side or front

Eva is nearly 25 weeks and its only in the last few days really that she has been able to fully support herself without slumping sideways, even now if she reaches for something she cant always keep her balance, and ends up lying on her tum! I didnt think she was ever going to manage it though either! I was expecting her to suddenly do it but it seems its more gradual, I guess as her core muscles get stronger. Your LO will get there!

Ditto like others have said. We also play 'row, row your boat' game when I sit opposite LO and hold her arms and we row together (ie I help her go back and forth gently, stretching her muscles).
