Lil miss is being a proper lil boobie monster atm. She wakes up at 8am, feeds every hour (literally today has been on the hour).....Takes up to 20-30 mins to feed... a lot of times she is proper fussing, grabbing fist fulls of boob, sucking on and off the nipple, arching her back (but not through pain, just because she like stretching her legs), grumping and scratching... Then she will go to bed at 8pm and then wake at 10:30, 12, 2, 4, 6 and then she is up for 8 again..

so in total I'm feeding between 15 - 17 times a day and its Sooooooo Exhausting :bored: :bored: :bored:

She's sick alot too... throwing up whole feeds... on a good day its about 4 times but on a bad day it can be about 12 times a day... It feels like such a waste of boob milk.. :wall: :wall: :wall: also she still poops like a newborn 3/4 times a day... and occasionally it's all ganky, slimy and jelly like :puke:

Theres nothing I can give her to help (i.e. formula) because when I do she gets really bad tummy pains and screams and cries and throws up more...

Its not a growth spurt because its been going on for about 4/5 weeks.... I have an appointment with her doctor on the 27th for her 4 month check but I am thinking that maybe I should make an earlier one... Shes not ill in herself... and she is quite happy and content.. :) Shes not loosing weight, but she's not gaining it at the same speed that she used to either.

Any one got any ideas because I'm stumped... and tired of course.. :)

Just wanted to send you some  as it's hard work when you've got a feedy baby. DS was exactly the same!

He used to throw up a lot too, mainly at night though and it was really mucusy. Had loads of tests including cystic fibrosis etc but was all ok, think it's related to his asthma and that he can't get rid of mucus very easily. He's grown out of it now though :)

I found that the more I fed him the worse he got with wanting to feed. I believe he was suffering from lactose overload which gave him tummy ache and want to feed even more, which then caused him more gip. Never had that problem with DD, but with DS I started to try and space the feeds a bit more by encouraging him to go longer with walks in the pram etc. I never let him cry for a feed, more distracted him! We got through it though, as I know you both will.

hope you're getting some rest hon? i'm starting to push connor a little bit further between meals now... have got him to 2.5 hours rather than every 2, but he still feeds for an hour. its such hard work - you're doing a super fab job sweetie xxx

Note to self... never ever put in writing what hours your baby sleeps... because it will only become worse... :rotfl:

Last night she was just up... there was no other way to describe it.. she was just awake... and fidgeting and kicking and kicking and throwing her arms around.. so I'm eve more tired today... :'(

Wasnt Tia lactose intolerant Morag ..serena might be but might just show different symptoms?

She was... but that was caused by a rota virus she caught on top of meningitis. The doctors said it was rare but not unknown for babies to be left lactose intolerant because of the virus' effect of the stomach lining. But then Tia might have been predisposed ? But Serena displays all the same symptoms that Tia did when I give her formula.

Serena though, poor thing has both sets of grandparents with IBS, a father with IBS and a mother with IBD, couldn't expect her to win the IBS lottery could we... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My bab wants to feed mostly every hour, sometimes more and does the whole squirming, bouncing on and off nip, etc throughout. I burp her and then put her back on and the whole thing takes ages.

One thing that has improved though is the nights - she is going about 5 hours and then either waking or grunting (still asleep). I have been able to feed her once in the night, and then put her back still sleepy which is a massive improvement from the first few weeks when I was mostly doing the 12 - 4am feeding run non-stop!!! I can deal with everything a lot better when I am getting more sleep!

It should get better for you, you just need to wait it out and keep going. Your mission at the moment is to feed on tap - nothing else is as important!! :D :

...and I thought my tiredness was bad! Have lots of      Will she take from a bottle if you express? That way your OH could take over for a bit and let you have a nice and much deserved sleep.

Poor you! hope you get a better night tonight.
With regards to the weight gain, my HV said after 3 months babies gain weight at about half the rate they have been up till then, if that makes sense? ie maybe 4 oz an week instead of 8oz or whatever. But that does sound like a lot of sick, hope you get some answers from doc soon.

Does sound like reflux, harry does the arching of his back, screaming and throwing up

Squig have you tried a comfort type formula or maybe ask about a soya formula for her digestion

You've done so well boobie feeding...   I take my hat off to you (I wish there was an icon for that!)

the sick sounds a lot like Evie had at the beginning...it went went I switched her to C&G Comfort 1... now she's only occasionally sick when she's being a pig and eating too much

xxxxx

I have nothing useful to say, I am a BF newbie - but I just wanted to give some hugs - it sounds like hard work at the minute

By the way, you have the most inasanely gorgeous girls!!! I love your signiture, they are just beautiful!

that really does sound like reflux , even the arching the back is a classic symtom :(
