Hi ladies
Hope you are all well. Im suffering from nausea all day, was wondering whether anyone has tried sickness bands and whether they actually work? x x

Or any advice on anything else i can use would be gratefully appricated as i dont even feel like i can eat anything now x x

I felt they helped , also I kept a pack of ginger biscuits by by bed and nibbled on one before I got up . Sipped sparkling water slowly and nibbled on tuc crackers or cream crackers throughout the day xxx

Hey hun, i know Bella was posting about this last week and think she got the travel bands and found them quite good, hopefully someone who has tried them will be along soon

xx

Thank you tinytoes and Nurse.
Im going to give the sparkling water a go this afternoon and see how i get on with that, hopefully it will ease it a little bit x x

sickness bands did nothing for me,sorry hun ! was also really off ginger flavour..what seemed to help the most was coke, dry crackers and fruity mentos sweets, good luck !

I would def recommend the bands hon, they don't take it away completely but I at least feel I can function with them on! Yesterday morning I forgot to put them on and by 10am was feeling terrible, put them on and within 30 mins or so started to feel better. Also try to eat little and often, I find my nausea gets worse when I'm hungrey so always keep some snacks in your handbag x x x

I'm sorry to say but I hated the travel bands. I didn't find they helped at all and just made it feel like I was cutting off circulation to my hand! Very unpleasant! I did find that lemon and ginger tea helped. Also ice lollies.

Good luck.

xx

The travel bands didn't do much for me either, but I found ice-pops & sipping original Lucozade helped with the sickness & kept my energy levels up & hydrated x

Thanks for your replies ladies, nausea is still here and im not to sure whether the sparkling water worked. Im in two minds about getting one of the sickness bands.
Im going to get some ginger root buscuits if i go shopping today to give them ago x x

Hi M2A

Yes the sickness bands worked for me, as Bella said it takes the edge off the sickness, I don't think Id got to work over the last few weeks without them, im self employed so taking time off sick is very difficult.

I bought mine from Boots they cost around £8! They are worth a try xxxx

I feel worse when I take mine off, it doesn't take the feeling away but helps a little. I find you can press the pressure points a few times when a wave gets really bad like your about to be sick and it somehow does help, maybe just in my head but if it stops me being sick! You can try pressing the p6 spot on your wrist when you feel bad, if it helps the bands might work for you. To find it place your index, middle and ring fingers at the crease of he inside of your wrist and the spot is between the 2 tendons where your index finger is. I've also read massaging the squashy bit between your thumb and wrist on your left hand helps when you have a wave of nausea come over you and you thing you might be sick, obviously you can't sit doing this all the time but if you out and not near a loo it works for me! I was eating tic tacs but can't stomach the sugary after taste anymore! Dry cream crackers seem to be my regular diet these days as they don't make me want to heave like just about everything else!
