sick pay

hey ladies,

i have never been on the sick before so was wondering if anyone knows what i get paid on SSP?

I am on probation at work as only been there 5 months so they cant pay me it so they said they will claim it for me, does it go on what you earn or is it just a set amount, like jobseekers?

I am worried the money is going to force me back to work before i am ready and its nagging at me, even though OH said it was fine wants me to take as much time off as i need bless him.

I will have been signed off by doctor from the 14th September

Think ssp is like £70 a week but could be wrong think u can check on direct gov. Hope it bearing up ok xx

it is a set amount of 81.60 pounds per week. Crap really, but make sure ur work calculates everything right as my work cocked it up and i should hopefully get it in my pay on friday. not helpful when they have taken almost £600 off me!! I am intitled to about £210 for 3 weeks off as u dont count the first 3 days sick, better than nothing though!! xx

wow it is sooo low eeek. I know we will manage OH is really supportive with the time i have had off, i suppose the money doesnt matter but a little more than that would have come in handy lol

I know tell me about it! It hasn't been too bad money wise but we have had to watch our spending so much more the last 2 months. My oh has been great with me when i was off work as i felt bad for making our income so low, but he wanted me to feel better over any money! Hoping for a normal pay and my ssp on Friday so going to treat myself to a dog as I have wanted one for ever, just got to get my oh round to the idea! xx

ooo i would love a dog, always fancied myself as a cat person but been looking after my mums poorly cat ( he has hurt his leg ) for 4 days i am getting sick of animal hair on all my stuff and also he puked up like 3 times and crapped in my bath so i am no longer so keen for a pet.

With the exception of a Basset Hound, i would have one of those in a heartbeat they are so cute!
