Sorry me again!

ds2 slept from midnight to 6am last night, which is amazing as far as I'm concerned, ds1 didn't go that long at night until about 6 months! But because he's so teeny should he be feeding more regularly than that? He's a snacky feeder, he'll feed for 10 minutes every hour / hour and a half during the day and he put on over 2lb in his first 2 weeks so I know the breastfeeding is working.

Should I wake him up to feed if he sleeps for more than 4 hours at a time?

See how he is during the day, you could feed him more during the day and let him sleep through or not wake him but give him a dream feed. Isaac stopped his night feeds and slept through from 6 weeks but all babies are diferent as you know. Play it by ear I'd say! :)

I wouldn't, not at night if in day then prob yes, he'd wake if he was hungry. Sounds like your doing a fab job! I'd enjoy the sleep :D

You could always try a dreamfeed. But if he is feeding well in the day, gaining weight and so on I'd consider carefully about this as dreamfeeding can lead to him expecting this on a regular basis and then waking for it if its not given.

Chances are it won't last and his sleep pattern will alter as growth spurts and so on happen. MY LO has been through an entire range of sleeping patterns at night and is still finding new ones to keep me on my toes

I remember LO having a few nights scattered around where he slept for longer periods but they were often one offs.

No, no and no! DD slept for 10-12 hours at 6 weeks and I couldn't believe my luck! He is strong and obviously taking what he needs from you in the day - please don't wake him!

If your babe sleeps well at night, feeds often during the day and makes lots of healthy nappies - I say no too!

nooooooooooo dont do it lol he will wake if hes hungry

Thanks for the replies, that's what I wanted to hear!!! I'm sure it won't last but it's such a novelty having a baby who sleeps!

Now I've just got to stop ds1 waking at 4am and I might get a decent night's sleep...
