shortening of words

Right im going to sound a little stupid here to all of you who know what their doing in forums.

I'm totally lost sometimes when trying to read your posts because of all the letters that are short for the actual words, (if ya know what i mean)....lol

I know what TTC means.... but thats about it.

Could someone please help me along here, as i want to join in with discussions but don't want to just incase i have the totally wrong subject...lol
