Lo is a brilliant feeder, she's thriving and I'm ebf so,on the whole, I'm thrilled to bits.

The only thing is, she will not take a bottle at all so expressing is pointless. Tried her with a sippy cup but no joy. As she feeds so often, as is the norm with bf babies, I think, I literally am glued to her.

Only problem being, it's quite difficult if I need to be away for 2hrs (have a meeting next month).

Anyway, babbling, sorry.

Do any of you have any advice on this and how to introduce other feeding vessels, besides my weary boobs?

Ps this also makes taking a dummy and any teething toys a no no. The girl is literally all about the boob! *sigh*

My LO was like that!! I say WAS and hoping that's the case after today.

He took bottle from 4 weeks no bother. Wen started teething completely refused. We were using Tommee tippee. Tried so many methods inc cups. Nothing worked. Was recommended to try Nuk bottles with latex teat. The latex teats are softer and nuk are better shaped. Result. LO took to these bottles straight away. I got my sister to give first one but there's been no problem with me feeding him since

There are bottles called 'breastflow' bottles which mimic the action of BFing. You can get a free sample online xx

Are you trying her with the bottle? If so is there someone else who can try? My LG will not take a bottle from me but she will from my husband, I guess she can smell it on me xx

We're having the same problems with Bethan. I've just ordered one of the breastflow bottles so will see how that works. It's next month but i'm going out for most of the day, and if she doesn't take a bottle by then she's going to starve!

I've done some more research and have discovered the playtex bottles from America with the brown tears have got good reports for stubborn babies! The teat is supposed to be very soft which mimics the nipple.

For some babies latex is more appealing ( I think NUK are), same with dummies but my lo never took a dummy (no problems with a bottle)
My friends lo didnt take a bottle until he went to nursery and he was around 10 month old, she tried everything incl beakers with expressed milk, formula etc.
All you can do is try. I cant see how old your lo is?

My lo refuses the bottle also. It's hard isnt it, I have loads of milk frozen that I can't use x

Bethan is 3 months. She did take a bottle in the very early days but now refuses it. I never had this problem with her sister...Seren was more than happy to feed from both.

My mum is going to come down and stay next week and I'm going to go out for a few hours. Maybe if I'm not around Bethan will give it a go. I'm also not going to try for a few days because both of us are getting stressed out

Wen LO wouldn't take bottle my DH syringed milk into him on the very few occasions I had to leave him. It did actually work

So frustrating. I know breastfeeding is best etc but it's so hard when they literally have to be glued to you.

Going to try source the playtex ones now too. Have spent a fortune on different botttles/cups etc lol xxx

I suppose that women are meant to be sitting on our nest or in our cave, not going out anywhere. Our man would go out and forage for food whilst we all sat and fed our lo's and slept. God that sounds good
We have evolved to be workers or ladies with busy lives but bf hasn't changed x

We're going to try first feed of the day tomorrow with a bottle. We're hoping a big appetite will make her take it. Will report back!

Well it worked! Used the breastflow bottle. She refused to take it from Kyle husband but I managed it.

Fingers crossed this is the start of progress. I still need her to take the bottle from someone else but I do feel as if this is a small victory
