That's it really! :(

She used to fuss a lot but till now we have always managed to make her take at least 160 or 180ml each feed! But today even if I tried for about an hour, she just refused to take anymore than 60ml!!!! and then, obviously I had to throw the milk as one hour had passed and it's not good anymore! She cries as soon as we even put her in the position to drink or as soon as she sees the feeder! :shakehead:

we have tried changing teats, but to no effect! we use Cow and gate and have always used it since she was born!

anyone else facing the same problem? she is not 5 months old yet and she still sleeps through, so I don't think she needs to strat solid
I was planing to start her on solid when we would be in France, from 25th of july, she would be 5 month and a week, so it would be good time ( maybe?). and anyway, I think they should still drink milk when they start solid, so I am worried!

Rubie went through the exact same thing at the same age. It lasted a week and she lost 1.5 oz in weight but then the next week she got her appetite back. Goodness knows what caused it, very strange

Thanks Kim
At least I knw it happens to others as well, but the thing is that she has been fussing for over a month now! and I have mentioned it to HVs but they all say it's ok, it's ok!!! and just to keep an eye on her!

anyway, thanks for your reply!
am dreading the next feed in 30 minutes! and DH is gone to pick up my uncle and auntie at waterloo! won't be back before midnight!

I spend all day long on my own with her and that's alright, but I don't know why, am feeling lonely now it's the evening! :(

take care,
Mel xx

I don't know if this will work for you but Rubie takes her feed better if I am not holding her. I sit her in her bouncer chair for feeds and she takes it a lot better. Might be worth giving it a go? Just a thought :D

thanks again, Kim :)

have tried that, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't!

am gonna strat feeding her, will see how it goes!

Thanks Kim!
Phew, done!!!

She managed to take 200ml, which is ok, but not great, as she should take 240ml, but it's at least something!

I think milk upsets her tummy and she has managed to make the link between the feeder and her pains!

now she is in bed, I pray she has a good night sleep and feel better tomorrow!

Thanks for your support, it made me feel loads better! When she does that I woud cry, really!

Have a good night

Great Mel at least she took some :D

Hope she feels better in the morning

Hi

Before we got our highchair I started giving Isaac his bottles in his bouncer because he hates being held for a feed. Funny because you would think they would like the closeness.

Whenever Isaac refuses his milk I offer him water because I think sometimes if they are thirsty the milk doesn't quench their thirst like water does. Sometimes he even stops half way through a bottle for some water.

Lou :)
