ooo, poor you, sounds horrible. Have you tried some stretches? You really need to work both the major nad minor muscle groups to have the best affect, first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Also keeping mobile is the best thing for it, but probably the last thing you want to do.

Easiest one stretch to do is sit on a straight backed chair, and fold one foot up and put it up on the other knee, so that you make a square with the shape left between your legs. Hold it for at least 20 seconds then ease off and repeat as many times as you can.

Here are a load of other stretches that you can do to relieve it, pick and choose which are comfortable and if you get any discomfort anywhere then stop. Also only do the ones that dont squish your bump or that you are able to do. Only do the basic gentle stretch outlined.

Hope it goes soon!

Im not that big so i get even more strange looks when i waddle to the shop. the baby is laying on a nerve and other then trying to move it off the nerve or taking pain killers i was adviced there isnt anything you can do... i tried a hot bath and the side he was leaning on the most i laid on that side in the bath and he moved... Oh the relief... I hope it stops soon because it is very painful if not... (sorry going to sound silly) try sitting on the toilet will take the pressure off the back/hip side and will apply pressure to your bum... normally they tend to move from that.... I hope bubzy moves soon for you....

I've been getting this, its horrible! I couldnt get upstairs to bed last night! x

I've been getting hip pain/lower back pain for the past couple of weeks. Its worse the more active I have been through the day, and is generally alot worse at night. There have been days when I have literally crawled up the stairs because the pain in my right hip has been so bad. Its to do with the pregnancy hormones relaxing your muscles, and if you are already prone to sore backs, are very flexible (too flexible!!), or have an existing injury, then chances are pregnancy will make it all alot worse!! Get plenty of rest, try swimming as it supports your muscles etc, and if it gets any worse say to your gp or midwife as you may need some physio! xx

i have been doing streches and the oh has been running me a lovley bubble bath every night along with as little paracetamol as possible it seems to have went away today so fx it doesnt come back but i have a feeling it will as i have always problems with sore backs due to a twisted spine, my mum is the same and always had issues with her back and spondylosis.
